Thesis Development 1
6 ECTS
This module employs group discussions to delve into various aspects of project development, fostering collaborative exploration and critical dialogue. Throughout the semester, students participate in multiple project status presentations, known as crits, where they showcase their work and receive constructive feedback from both internal tutors and external guests. The end-of-semester examination serves as a comprehensive review, evaluating the progress of individual projects and the collective effort expended over the term.
As part of the examination, students present the current state of their written thesis, including the abstract and project plan. This includes showcasing the status of their project and presenting their artifact, whether in the form of a concept, prototype, dummy, drafts, or scenarios. Successful completion of this examination is a prerequisite for advancing into the final diploma semester.
Throughout the course, students acquire the ability to draw insights from research, empirical investigations, and experimental design practices. They develop the skills to reflect on, articulate, and argue these insights, ultimately conceptualizing a design project or artifact based on their findings. Additionally, students actively engage in professional discourse, learning to act and be effective from their own creative position. The course also emphasizes the importance of assuming responsibility in society as an artistic and creative personality.
