94 Strange Sensations – A Dictionary of the Unseen

It is customary to start working on images by beginning with an image (or several). You look at the image, question it, wrestle with it, surrender to it, get fed up with it and then begin anew, hopefully with a new perspective. Slowly, the image reveals its layers. And you, you hope that all of its layers will be revealed so that you can claim that you have understood the image in all its facets.

But what do you do with the unseen image? This image hides all of its layers. Its purpose is to not reveal itself to you. It appears (maybe in your mind, maybe on a screen, maybe in conversation), but then vanishes immediately, avoiding your desperate grasp. And you, you feel that you have somehow been cheated.
