The research focus “Hybrid Publishing” within the research unit Visual Communication is a dynamic and evolving field at the intersection of traditional print and contemporary digital publishing paradigms. Our research investigates innovative approaches that blend conventional and digital methods to address the ever-changing landscape of academic publishing. Focusing on the symbiotic relationship between print and digital media, our work explores the potentials of hybrid publishing in enhancing accessibility, reach, and engagement of scholarly content. This interdisciplinary endeavour encompasses studies in open access, mediation, hybridity, collaboration, and the integration of emerging technologies to create a holistic understanding of new ways of providing access to knowledge.
